I am having a similar issue to the two below, model is symmetrized and checked in every way I could think of but the guides do not mirror properly at all, I would appreciate any help possible!
Hey, a lot of students have run into this issue, so I made a separate video explaining how to fix it. If you’re still having trouble, please check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/iWtt50Blq_Q
Hi! Firstly, thank you for your amazing courses because I am delighted. I am a bit frustrated now with Hair particles. I have followed all the steps but for some reason my hair particles don’t symetrize perfectly, some of them are always ramdomly distributed when mirroring.
I have already checked:
-My mesh is fully symetrical with pivot point exactly in the world center.
-When I do SHIFT + CTRL + M, my model mirror perfectly.
-I have merged my mesh by distance and also deleted any loose geometry but It was fine.
-My normals are all fine.
-I have applied all transformations.
Just to try in a different way, I have duplicated my mesh, scaled the duplicate on X minus 1 (-1) and copied that duplicated hair particles to the original mesh which in that case mirrors perfectly but of course, now I have two particles systems in same mesh which cannot merge together (or at least, I don´t know how).
Any other idea? I do not want to continue with the course if I am already having issues with that.
Another student previously reached out to me with a similar issue, so I suspect you might be encountering the same problem. Could you send me your project file via email? I’ll help you check the model and do my best to pinpoint the cause of the issue. You can send it to: vfxgrace@gmail.com.
In the modeling course under ‘Texture Sculpting And Model Delivery’ you turn off x mirroring a number of times, like at 10:23. Surely this will affect symmetry. Thanks?

thanks! that fixed it
Hi Jerry,
I am having the same issue with my model.
What was the solution to Oscar’s issue? I suspect I am encountering the same problem.

did you come to a solution afterall?
