I looked at the first few minutes of the weight painting video and made changes to my model. Looks mucch better now so you can ignore my emails on this subject as well as the comment below. Thanks.
It looks like I have a weight problem on the upper lip. I have just parented the secondary controllers to the jaw bone and when I rotate it the mesh draw down in one section on both sides of the mouth. Should I try to fix this now or wait until we get to the weight painting video? I’m emailing you a screenshot of this. Thanks.
If you already know how to handle weight painting and have a good grasp of the technique, you can go ahead and fix the weight issues you’re seeing now. But if you’re still not too familiar with the basics of weight painting, I’d suggest waiting until you’ve gone through that section of the tutorial before making adjustments.
Weight problems can be pretty random—what you’re seeing in your model might not show up in the tutorial, and vice versa.
Once you’ve learned the methods and gained some insight into weight painting, you’ll be better equipped to tackle the specific issues you’re encountering.
