Introduction

This is a high-quality yellow warbler character, including the model, textures, hair, rigging, and animation. The materials are built with Arnold renderer for realistically replicating the appearance and texture of a real yellow warbler. The rig features a dedicated wing-fold controller, making the animation in line with natural movements. The project provides a complete rigging setup along with 4 realistic animations. This character was created at real-world scale using Maya 2026.

Model details: It consists of the body, pupils, sclerae, tongue, and multiple feather groups.
Textures and materials: There are 10 .tx files which support Arnold, all in 4K resolution for best quality and details. The materials of the character and the feather are rendered with Arnold renderer to present realistic effects. There is one UV set of the body.

With detailed controllers, it's easier to create postures and animations, the features are as follows:

CTR_crv_MASTER is the main controller of the character, it includes customizable attributes:
DEF_jnt_Vis controls the display of skinned bones;
MCH_jnt_Vis controls the display of auxiliary bones.
CTR_crv_gravity is the body controller (excluding feet).
CTR_crv_IK_M_head is the head controller, with customizable attribute:
Head_Follow_Target controls whether the head follows the target.
CTR_crv_L_Thigh_01_attr and CTR_crv_R_Thigh_01_attr and leg attribute controllers, including:
Foot_Eversion controls foot eversion;
Foot_Inversion controls foot inversion;
Foot_Pivot controls foot pivoting;
Heel_Raise controls heel raising;
IK_FK controls IK/FK switching;
IK_Stretch controls IK stretching;
Pole Vector Follow controls whether the pole vector follows the legs;
RotateOrder controls the rotation order;
Stretch_Control_Vis controls the display of secondary stretch controllers;
Toes_Raise controls toe raising;
Toes_Spread controls toe abduction and adduction.
CTR_crv_M_tail_attr is the tail feather attribute controller, including:
Stretch_Control_Vis toggles the visibility of tail feather secondary controllers.
CTR_crv_L_wing_attr and CTR_crv_R_wing_attr are wing feather attribute controllers, including:

Additionally, there are extra secondary controllers for the body and wings.

Specifications

File format: Saved as .mb files by default. It can be saved as .ma files if necessary.
Version supported: Created with Maya 2026. Maya 2026 or above is recommended for compatibility.

Caveats

  • The XGen groom in this asset has been converted to Interactive Groom, providing faster loading times and improved rendering performance. Although the original XGen guides are not included, users can add XGen modifiers as needed for further customization. All XGen grooms in the scene have been assigned Arnold materials and are ready for rendering.
  • By default, Arnold uses GPU as the render device, and the sampling setting is suitable for medium quality output, as is shown in the preview image of the character. If you need a fine-tuned image, you can modify Arnold settings to your hardware limit.
  • The animation scene comes with Arnold lighting, which can be modified if required.
  • Except for the above, the character can be rendered directly.
