You can add any preset hairstyle to your scene, then follow these steps:
Add a Particle System to your target model.
Adjust the hairstyle controller (e.g. the sphere) using Transform to match the character’s head.
Use the add-on’s rigging tools to quickly snap the hair to the head area.
This works with imported models, characters from asset library, or objects exported from other Blender projects.
Check the following:
The preset uses the Particle System, not the new Geometry Nodes Hair;
The currently selected object has a Particle System (or the preset cannot be applied);
If the hair is deformed in the viewport, it could be due to inconsistent scale or missing UVs.

Yes. Make sure:
The selected object has a Particle Hair system;
You’ve set a valid preset folder in the add-on settings;
You are not using Curve Hair (Geometry Nodes);
Then click “Save as Preset”. If nothing happens, check whether the selected object is of the correct type (not empty or lacking a particle system).
Currently, 3D Hair Brush presets only support the legacy Particle Hair system. The new Geometry Nodes Hair is not yet supported.
All presets are built with the Particle Hair System. After applying a preset, you can:
Adjust density, length, and strand count in the Particle System Properties Panel;
Use Particle Edit Mode to manually comb, scale, or trim hair.
Please check the image below to find the settings.

This is often due to mismatched orientation or scale of the hair controllers. Suggestions:
Adjust the rotation and scale of the hair controller;
Reapply the preset;
Manually fine-tune in Hair Edit Mode as needed.
Yes. If you are to export high-quality Groom assets for cinematics in UE:
Use particle hair (not Hair Cards) for the hairstyle;
Export as Alembic (.abc), which is suitable for high-fidelity UE Groom rendering.
The add-on includes multiple complete hairstyle presets. You can load them and check their particle system parameters, textures, and material settings. However, we currently do not provide downloadable project files. To study a specific effect, try loading and analyzing the relevant preset.
