1. Can the add-on create hairs other than hair on the head, beard or eyebrow?

Absolutely. The add-on supports all types of strand-based hair, including: Beards, eyebrows, body hair; Animal fur; Decorative/stylized hairstyles and comic-style hair. You can freely combine brushes, materials, and card textures for a variety of looks.

2. Is the add-on suitable for animated hairstyles? Does it support hair dynamics?

Yes. Hair created with the add-on is fully compatible with Blender's native features:

Hair Dynamics;

Rigging with Armatures;

Animation baking (e.g., for Alembic exports).

The add-on does not include an animation system but won't limit your animation workflows.

3. Does the add-on include animation tools or hair simulation tools?

No. The add-on focuses on grooming and styling, not physics or animation. For dynamics, use Blender’s built-in systems like Hair Dynamics or bone rigs.

Note: Blender’s new hair system currently does not support dynamics.

4. Can the add-on simulate non-hair materials like fiberglass or insulation?

No. The add-on is not designed for simulating material-based fibers such as fiberglass or thermal insulation. These effects rely on shader systems, not strand structure.

5. add-on UI disappears or Modifier panel doesn’t show—what should I do?

After installing the add-on, make sure to click “Save Preferences” under the Preferences menu. If not saved, Blender will disable the add-on upon restart, causing UI panels to disappear.

6. What’s the difference between the add-on’s Mirror function and Blender’s built-in mirror function?

The add-on’s mirror function is essentially identical to Blender’s built-in mirror in the particle hair system. It simply provides a more accessible UI integration. If mirroring fails, check the model’s normal direction and UV consistency.

7. Why does hair "jump to the opposite body part" after enabling Clump in particle hair?

This is a known bug in Blender’s particle system. Try the following fixes:

Recalculate normals (Edit Mode → to select all → +);

Ensure the particle modifier is placed after the armature modifier;

Turn off Hair Dynamics and check if the issue persists;

Verify the accuracy of the vertex group painting;

Inspect for abnormal hair guides in Particle Edit Mode.

If unresolved, send us the project file and we’ll assist with diagnosis.

8. Can this add-on work with hair assets (like Frizz/Curl) from Blender’s Asset Browser?

No. The Asset Browser hair assets are for the new Geometry Nodes Curves hair system, not the legacy particle hair system. They are not compatible with the current setup for 3D Hair Brush.

9. Are there more comprehensive beginner tutorials? The current videos are too fast and lack structure.

Thank you for the feedback! We’ve created a complete beginner walkthrough covering the full hair creation process.

10. Will the add-on support automatic updates in the future? Manual downloads are inconvenient.

Thanks for the suggestion! We’ve taken this feature request and plan to add version checking and auto-update notifications to improve user experience.

11. The add-on crashes when rendering with third-party tools like Shot Manager, how to fix it?

This is caused by those tools trying to access gl_utils, which isn’t available in background rendering environments. We recommend:

Updating the add-on to the latest version;

If the issue persists, send us the error log or project file for investigation.

12. Can the add-on be used with other hair systems like Shot Manager, Empty Hair, or XGen?

Currently, the add-on does not support direct interoperability with external hair systems like Maya’s XGen or Empty Hair. You may try exporting via FBX or maps if necessary, but the add-on is designed for Blender's internal workflow.
